Colton Judy
I'm a fast-learning software engineer in the Nashville area focusing on GIS-related software development. My current focus includes languages such as C#, Java, and JavaScript, as well as specific frameworks such as Django, ReactJS, and more.

About Me
I recently graduated in December 2024 from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and concentration in Software Engineering. However, my passion for software development extends far past my formal education, as I have been coding personal projects since middle school.
With 7 months of internship experience, I took a position with the City of Nashville as a Junior GIS Developer. This position has allowed me to grow as a developer by applying my skills in a GIS focused-way, through building custom widgets, creating modernized web applications for multiple departments, as well as automating data updating processes using Python.

Current Skills
My degree focused primarily on C# and Java, and I feel confident in my ability to write quality code in both of them. For example, I recently developed a comprehensive Library Management System in C# using the WPF .NET Framework and a MySQL database. You can find this project and much more on my Github linked below.
In my experience as a Junior GIS Developer, I have also used JavaScript to build custom web applications using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript, as well as TypeScript to build custom widgets for ArcGIS Experience Builder. Additionally, I have used Python and the ArcPy library to automate data processes, saving other employees precious time.
I am also familiar with other languages and frameworks such as Python, Django, C++, JavaScript, ReactJS, and more. Having a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals allows me to pick up new tools and technologies quickly on an as-needed basis. Lately, I've been particularly focused on improving my abilities in ReactJS and Django.
